Kids' Cooking Classes and Workshops

Group and private lessons are available for kids of all ages. We feel it is important for kids of all ages to feel comfortable in the kitchen, learning to cook, make a mess (and clean up after themselves!)

Kids Farm-to-Table Cooking Camp

Registration for our Middle School Farm to Table Cooking Class is under way! Farm to Table Cooking Camp is for kids aged 9-13. 

Campers will learn about local farms, how food is grown, and how to cook with all that locally-sourced, farm fresh produce.
Campers will learn cooking techniques, safe knife skills, basic nutrition, kitchen sanitation, menu planning, and time-management while preparing kid-friendly meals in a fun, cooperative setting in a commercial kitchen in Devon, PA.

No cooking experience needed.

For the summer of 2024 there are 2 sessions.

Kitchen safety, knife skills, recipe implementation, sanitary practices
Lunch preparation and service

Tuesday 9am-1pm
Basic nutrition, menu planning , team work, discussion of local agriculture

Wednesday 9am-1pm
Farm Day- Bryn Clovis Farm Malvern 
A day with farmer Ranney Moran to learn farm techniques, the importance of shopping locally, and learning to use fresh, local produce in our daily menus
Lunch preparation and service

Thursday 9am-1pm
Chopped Competition- kids will be divided up into teams and be asked to prepare a meal from a box of surprise ingredients
Lunch preparation and service

Friday 9am-1pm
Campers work in teams to plan, execute, creatively plate, serve and present a brief description of each dish to the parents

Lunch Service at 12pm- kids will explain their cooking processes, present dishes to parents, followed by a Q&A about techniques learned and the campers’ experience during their time at camp

Dinner and Demo

Want a fun and different way to entertain? Are your friends foodies and health nuts like you? This is an opportunity to gather some friends, select a theme for the evening and create a healthy three-course meal in your kitchen with guidance and culinary instruction mixed in! When the food is ready, we can sit and enjoy the fruits of our labors with a glass of wine or a custom-made mocktail.

Planted Kitchens is available to cater your smaller, more intimate events such as cocktail parties, dinner parties, birthdays, buffets, luncheons. Menus are custom tailored to your needs and a small service staff can be provided to ensure that your event goes smoothly.
